The Chiltern Hills in Autumn are a stunning place to go for a trail run. The colours of the trees are inspiring as are the trails. The route is in a whole new area to our other events as we pick up trails which are less known even to locals. Along the way we incorporate fun downhill paths banked by trees and head through a nature reserve to where we hope to see wildlife including local deer. As with all our events we want you to learn about the wild as well as become a better runner, so we are on hand to offer technical guidance.

The run will start in Tring. At the end of the run, there is a great coffee shop within walking distance to pick up a post run refreshment. The event is easily accessible by rail or road.

All abilities are catered for, so whether you are a new to trail running, just looking to get some miles in an inspiring location, or smash out trails like a pro, you're in good hands. As with all Run the Wild events, it's a team event so you will be grouped with similar ability runners and led by one of our experienced Run Leaders who knows the route and will set the pace for you. We walk anything too steep and it's a good opportunity to get some trail running tips from our leaders along the way as well as meet other trail runners.

You will need to arrange your own transport to the start of the adventure in Tring, but there are regular trains from London Euston to Tring Station which take around 40 minutes and is 1.7 miles to the meeting point which can either by walked (takes 30 minutes) or alternatively there is a taxi rank. There is pay & display parking should you prefer to drive. Accommodation is available nearby, please get in touch if you would like any recommendations.

We will group participants by their ability but you need to be able to run 5km non-stop. It's a great event for those new to trail running as well as veterans! The Run Leader will route find and as all with our expeditions you will be expected to run as part of the team. First time trail runners welcome!

The event will start at 9am in Tring. The event will finish around 10.30am (full details in your booking pack).

"Another awesome run thank you. So well organised to maximise both fun and safety. Stunning route as always with lots of hints, tips and local facts along the way." Emma, October 2020

"Really enjoyed this, we did a trail run in Tring, beautiful setting. Very well organised. 10km but nice and friendly, although we were aiming to keep within a time to complete it was more important that we looked after each other and no one got left behind. That’s the way it should be. For anyone looking to try something new or if you would like some nice people to go running with I can recommend them." Dan, October 2020

"Thanks again for yesterday - really enjoyed it! Our guide was fantastic." Chloe, October 2020
